You're actually interacting with people right now, real people! I'm a real woman living far away from you and answering your question... I've been on the internet since 1996... I'm celebrating my 10th anniversary!! I can tell you that during this 10 years of internet in my life, I have learned a lot, found lots of answers to my questions, especially regarding to my health problems. I've met lots of good friends, some not-so-great friends, made acquaintances, met my former husband, met my current boyfriend (and lots of people I dated in between! hehehe), kept in contact with relatives and friends living abroad.... I mean, it's been a day-to-day tool for me.
The problem is that this medium makes it easier for some people to hide behind a lie, try to be someone they are not, make you believe their lies, and even hurt you... that's why you have to be so careful who you connect with, don't believe everything you read, do your reasearch... and enjoy all the internet can do for you!
