I just saw Vanilla Sky for the first time (having objected to it before because it's a remake of a fantastic Amenábar film). Now I can't decided which is better. Tom Cruise is yummy in Vanilla Sky but Eduardo Noriega was pretty hot in Abre los Ojos too. Of course, that's not my only criteria!

Noooo they shouldn't do a remake of Volver, they should just release the Almodóvar one in the UK! It's out on 25th August but no ******* cinemas in this stupid country play foreign films :(

I havent seen the original but I LOVED Vanilla Sky, I'm gonna hunt for the original right now, thanks for asking this question

no vanilla sky is better, for the reason the story though pretty much the same, is slightly tweaked, going deeper into the charicters than Abre los Ojos. also i felt cruise was a better actor than noriega, i felt more for him. i really felt for him in the scene where he's hugging cruz in the park then says 'my dreams are a cruel joke' that scene really moved me. i saw vanilla sky at the cinema. instantly loved it, then saw Abre los ojos on tv that same night. i've seen it again (the original) since then.

I would say the same, I didn't understand at all Vanilla Sky and I have no idea about Abre los Ohos too...

Vanilla Sky was bloody awful! A half-baked thriller dressed up as high art. Get some taste.

The Original is much much much much better.
I wonder if they also gonna make a remake of "VOLVER". That is the best movie out this year. Truely Spanish, truely good. Fantastic.

Abre los Ohos (Open your eyes - for those that don't understand Spanish) is much better. Original movies are allways much better then copies.

The original version is generally the better one in my opinion. And anything with that crazy miniature monkey featured scientologist freak in it gets a thumb down. Quite frankly he disturbs me.

Probably Vanilla Sky, but I lose interest when people over-analyse it and look for what isn't there.
