A cease-fire does seem to benifit Hezbollah. What does the UN think happens at a cease-fire? It is a chance for those who are getting beat to organise and put up a better fight.

If the UN can make it work, then between the 15,000 UN troops and the 15,000 Lebanese troops, they can keep Hezbollah out of southern Lebanon, and out of firing range of Israel.

If Hezbollah ends up attacking some other country, that becomes the fault of the UN who let them. Israel's concern is keeping its own people safe.

Nothing! Hezbollah is already entrenched in the Lebanon Parliament. So they will be voted in even more and then the government will legally be able to acquire more weapons from anyone they want to. Can we say...Iran and Syria? Boom! in no time Israel will be hit again but much worse!
