Iran has as much right to nuclear energy as any other country.
As far as nuclear weapons I agree with computersrandd's Q&A above that no country should have them, but there is no indication that Iran is any more irresponsible than any other country.
In any case, the only country that has ever used nuclear weapons on other human beings is not in a position to moralise to other countries.
BTW I'm from Canada.

Any responsible nation should have access to nukes, however when your leader tells the world thet Israel should be wiped off the face of the earth, that Iran can disrupt the oil supply in the persian gulf, and has a past of sponsoring activities that destabilize other governments, then no they do not have the right to nukes.

The tech was invented by Americans Iran has NO right to steal our tech period! Just because some other nation stole it deosn't give Iran the rights to it.
Nuclear bombs are antiques and their only purpose in the modern world is to purposely poison the land, air, and water of someone else! There is new non-radioactive tech with just as much explosive power but no radiation. Iran is clearly wanting to render some part of the world unlivable. When they do thier one bomb Iran and all the people will be dust in the wind! Blown from the face of the Earth!

Absolute right to nuclear power sure; but the Iranian government rejected a full offer of nuclear power from Russia. So they tipped their hand - they want nuclear weapons. They signed an agreement with other nations not to pursue such weapons. So you have to ask yourself and others have to ask of them - if the agreement you signed means nothing how can the world trust you with these weapons?
Here is the ugly question. If they do have such a right what is going to deter them from using the weapons on Israel (their leader says Israel should not exist and be wiped from the planet), and what kind of deterent can we (USA) or any country apply to them to keep them from using such weapons? I don't think there is such a deterent...I don't think they care - so no I don't think they have an absolute right to the weapons.

I don't think nukes are an absolute right for any nation. They should not have been invented at all. Iran has, however, as much right to nukes as anyone else. The same right as India, Pakistan, China, Israel, South Africa, Europe and the US. Their rights are guaranteed by International Law and no state can legitimately interfere with their right for self determination and to protect itself with nukes if it pleases. International Law, however, is quite often hnored in the breach as in the observance. America.

First of all the bomb their nuclear sites.. we will have to take out their military installations... and before doing that we will have to break their defence and their ports as well.. meaning a full fledge war with more money being spend on arms and ammunition and then the cost of rebuilding iran....also .. loss of soldiers.
Iran is smart. it knows that america won't attack .. if it does... oil price is goona sky rocket.. personally i think no islamic country shud have nukes... nukes should only be with counties that have democracy..ie security council and india.

Absolutely NO ONE has the right to them. They should be declared internationally illegal and any nation possessing them should be severely ostracized by every civilized country on the planet until they give them up.

NO. They are too much into the theocratic sh*t and righteousness.
That's dangerous. Their minds are too far off reality.

Why not? We are the only country that has ever used them, North Korea has them the ability to deliver them and the willingness to use them, I don't hear any presidential debate about invading or disarming them?
