12 months, and you should use whole (4% fat) milk until they're at least two years old. After that, you can take them down to 2% if you want, but you don't have to.

The extra fat found in whole milk is crucial for their brain development from 1 - 2 years of age.

I stated having my babies in the 70's and I started feeding them cereal from the time they came home just a little bit mixed in a teaspoon, and started giving them whole milk at like 6-8 mos just mix it in with their formula and gradually use less and less formula till they are drinking whole milk alone but take note of their reactions when doing this. Just use your common sense hon. and think about it what do you think our ansestors use to do when feeding their babies they didn't have formula to give the babies except they did have mothers milk.

a babys digestive system is very sensitive and whole milk contains a lot of things that are hard for baby to digest. therefor a baby should only be given whole milk once they have reached 12months(1 year)

Its supposed to be one year, but i started my daughter on half wholemilk half water.... at about 10 1/2 months to get her used to it... and graduaually put it to just whole milk. I guess its all in how you belive... I think some doctors are nuts with what they say so I sorta do what my mom did with me... bc im ok no allergies or anything.

At 1 year old. I would wean them onto it to make sure they don't vomit when you give it to them. I weaned my son by using 6 oz. formula and 2 oz. whole milk for 4 days, then 4 oz formula and 4 oz. milk for 4 days, then 2 oz. formula and 6 oz. milk for 4 days, then just milk. He adjusted well and never refused the milk.

Reading the back of the formula you are NOT suppose to mix formula and regular milk. Always follow those canned formula directions.
