Just because something is beatiful, doesn't mean that he/she/it can't handle itself. Why does my brother constantly insist that something like a unicorn, is a juvinile obsession? A guy can be fanatical about dragons for as long as he lives, but a girl is questioned when she's eighteen and loves unicorns.

In the original unicorn tale, the unicorn is a symbol for purity, and the only way a unicorn may be caught is this:
A young virgin enters a clearing in the woods and sits quietly. Soon, a unicorn enters the clearing. It enters quietly and shyly, showing much fright. Slowly, though, it walks to where the virgin sits, and then lowers its head into the lap of the virgin.
No reason why anyone, boy or girl, of any age, can't be fascinated by unicorns.

I guess because the unicorn is a big symbol of innocence. May be why people associate them with children. Dragons are more masculine so guys can go on liking them for forever. Don't worry about others. Just like what you like. I think unicorns are beautiful and I am 25. If they ever figured out how to make them genetically I would so get one.

Probably it is just a different attitude. It is okay when a guy looks strange, has tattoos, scars, etc., but when a girl is just a bit different from the "standard", people are uncomfortable with it. Maybe they unconsciously want girls to "grow up" to become fit-anyone-brides faster.
Maybe it has to do with the history of coats of arms and that kind of stuff. Men were allowed to use a lot of different emblems, and women were limited in permission of societies to enjoy this.

your brother is insane, not litarally of course, i'm 21 and i still love unicorns, i have a unicorn tattoo and a silver unicorn ring that i NEVER take off, unicorns are mythical creatures that help us link with our creativity, they are not just for children

oh no i think unicorns are way more associated with teeneaged girls and young women- cause of the virgin/princess beng the only ones who can catch them part of the fable

I think that's not correct.
Unicorns are a mystical creature, they tap into our imagination as do dragons.
Anyone who stifles your creativity is someone you need to guard yourself against.
