The only way a person could do that would be not to leave the house at all, otherwise car parking, even the act of driving is using petrol up that cost you money. I was ill a few months back, so that was the last time I didn't spend a dime, well, I didn't buy any more stuff, I will have just used up some of the stuff I already bought like food, toilet paper etc!

I saw a couple on TV from NYC. They went 12 mths without shopping other than life's necessities. Naturally they took the subway or walked everywhere. no movies, no new clothes, no eating out. No frivolous spending. This wont work in the rural areas but in the cities most museums have a free night, cities have free summer entertainment/classic movies etc. Of course the beauty of nature is always free. At the end they manages to saved a huge amount of money, were debt free and lost weight and their relationship had the joy of 2 people falling in love all over again.

a lot of times i go without spending my money.im saving because i want to build a house and start a family with my fiancee..also, the way gas prices keep going up,not a lot of spare money right now.
the last time? i guess last year..i came back to the states last year from the Philippines and every since i have been saving my money to go back home..
