It's a shame so many people misinterpret the Constitution to fit their own personal agendas. We are allowed to "bear arms" to defend ourselves against a tyrannical and oppressive government.
That's not quite the same as owning all kinds of machine guns and other killing machines just for the sake of showing off our machismo.
Guns don't kill people...killers kill people. The problem is that too many killers have access to guns because of our lax and insipid gun laws. Why would any legitimate gun enthusiast object to registering his firing arms with the proper state and federal authorities; being required to complete a thorough training course in gun safety (just as drivers must pass a driver's test); and carrying a photo I.D. showing yourself as a gun enthusiast or user? Why gun owners resist such simple restrictions makes no sense; it would be in their best interests, it seems. -RKO-

Yes, the states can. Absolutely.
The 2nd Amendment only protects against federal regulation of firearms. It does nothing against state action.
So, unless those rights are protected by the state constitution, they are subject to state laws.

Probably not, but I'm sure you're using those semi-automatic weapons (with armor pericing bullets) for proper sporing purposes.
