I really want to start a band and I need tips on that!!!
I have been writing songs for a long time and I already know what type of music I want the band to play and sound like!!!

Start by learning an instrument if you dont already play one. Even if your bad keep with it, Music people tend to be clique-ish' (sp?). Goto your local music store, places that have bulletins and post what you are looking for and what you expect. Be specific, and try to avoid druggies and alcoholics. I know I wish I would have known that early on. They may have talent but will usually piss it away. Above all else, don't give up. If you dont Believe in yourself and your lyrics, no one else will. I promise you that.

What instrument do you play? Or do you plan on being lead singer like the other 1/2 a billion wannabees?

Find other people who're into the music you want to create, and get motivated. Find out about open mic nights in your area, network, research etc... be patient but excited. Don't whatever you do comprimise.

Audition people to be in it and try to get a spot playing in little shows. Call an agent and see if he will support you. Good Luck!

All you need is a good beat and a good chorus and your all set. It doesn't matter what the lyrics are cause most people don't even pay attention to them
