i called my dr. and she said that i could take her in if i felt i needed to. she didn't make it seem that alarming. if my dr. instructed me to i would have taken her right away. i just wanted to get an idea of what other people thought

101 isn't awfully high, but keep a close eye on her and take her temperature frequently (about once an hour).

Both of my sons would break out in a strange prickly looking rash every time they caught a cold. We had them to the doctor more times than we cared to count... 9 times out of 10, the rash was viral, and nothing could be done for it. The one time it was something other than a viral rash, it was with my older son--he had a reaction to a new antibiotic he was taking for an ear infection.

If her fever gets much above 102, you should call your doctor back or take her to urgent care.

It's safe to give her Infant Tylenol (follow the doseage instructions on the back as far as her weight), but NOT Infant Advil/Motrin. This shouldn't be given to your baby until she's at least 6 months old.

If she develops any strange or unusual symptoms that aren't common for her (a bad cough, projectile vomiting, diarrhea, a spike in her fever), take her to the ER.

Relatively simple things can go very, very wrong in little ones. My younger son was in daycare at 3 months old. The first week he was there, he caught viral meningitis. :( The other infant that this center cared for had a mild cold, but the same virus that can cause that cold can also cause meningitis and a host of other conditions.

Has she been introduced to any new foods lately? If so it could be an allergic reaction.

A fever and bumps sounds a bit more like chicken pox though. Does she seem uncomfortable?

Don't let people freak you out because 101 is not that high for a child that age. Little ones get high fevers when they fight off stuff.

If you do go to the ER or a medcheck, make sure they know about the spots right away. If it *IS* chicken pox, it's contagious and they won't want you in the waiting room with other people.

Personally i think the baby should go to the doctor if she has aa fever of 101. I have a five month old and i would take her to the doctor immediately. As for what it could be I dont know maybe chicken pox or an allergic reaction to something.

Just because the baby is still tiny you should seek medical
attn : ASAP . It could probably be just a rash but then again
maybe not . My three kids when they have a high fever , they
get a rash all over , but then it disappears after the fever goes down . But take ur baby to the hospital you will have peace of mind and the baby will feel much better .

Well it could be of two things, one she may have chicken pops or sometimes when a child has a fever it comes out with bumps, give your child a bath and if more show up i would find a ins ta care and take him there.
Infants need to be checked out no matter what anything could be going on.

Hard to tell without seeing the bumps. They could be ant bites with a reaction to the toxins, or they could be chicken pox, or a food allergy.... You need to take baby to the Dr. for an evaluation.

Please take your child to your emergency room. I don't think it's a good idea to try and diagnose what may be wrong on the opinion of someone who is not a doctor. A fever of 101 is dangerous. It doesn't take long for little ones to become dehydrated and fevers can lead to convulsions . I pray all goes well.

sounds like pox or maybe a severe allergic reaction. You should take your child in first thing Monday. If her fever raises, I would go to the ER. Better safe...

sounds like chicken pox to me. It could be a rash, but better to be safe than sorry. Take your baby to the doctor or emergency room now.
