agoraphobia is fear of crowds of people. People who have it can't go into crowded stores or sidewalks or similar.
Social Phobia otherwise called Social Anxiety Disorder is fear of social situations. People with it are commonly mistaken as having harmless shyness or generalized anxiety disorder. Some therapists refuse the recognize the existence of this despite it being a well defined disorder.
They are often linked, one sometimes evolves into the other.
To Heinz M
You have it backwards. Agoraphobia is fear of crowds in public places. From Wikipedia:"A common misconception is that agoraphobia is a fear of open spaces. This is most often not the case since people suffering from agoraphobia usually are not afraid of the open spaces themselves, but of public spaces or of situations often associated with these spaces."

Although it turns out that fear of crowds doesn't fully cover the subject either.

Actually it is called xenophobia. A fear of strangers. The main reason Muslims want to kill everyone NOT Muslim.
Agoraphobia that others here mistakenly show is a fear of large open places. Has nothing to do with fear of people
Just shows how careful you have to be of answers here. Always double check them.
