Once your molecules return to the random nothingness from whence they came, the consciousness that was once you will never be seen again. Without proof, the existence of an afterlife is just fanciful thinking.

What makes you think there will be a next life?
Where do you think it will be?
What makes you think you will be able to see?
Why should I be there?
What makes you think that their will be a "you" or an "I" at all?
My answer is PROBABLY NOT.
All we can be sure of is that we will both die eventually and our bodies will die and decay.
Beyond that we know nothing.
