I would appreciate a SUBJECTIVE definition to one or more of these terms. Because alot of idiots are going to run to the dictionary to find it. I want to know your definition of any term, and the reasoning behind it.

omg I almost laughed at one answer. I didn't say people who use a dictionary are idiots. I said there are idiots who will use the dictionaries definition as their own, and sometimes the dictionaries definition isn't always the most precise one.

Ok.

A terrorist is someone who subscribes to the political and social goal of creating terror. Their purpose is to disrupt lives, harm innocent people, and generally cause as much pain and chaos as possible.

Terrorism is the phenomenon by which a bunch of terrorists realize they can affect larger societies by combining their efforts. Terrorism also refers to the effects of those efforts, being the conflict between government control and national security on on side, and the desire to be open and tolerant and free on the other side.

A cell refers, in networking terms, to a single cluster or individual, acting as part of a larger whole but functioning separately.

A terrorist cell, therefore, would be a group of terrorists operating as part of a larger terrorist network, but often independently or with the own agenda or targets.

I could have quoted objective definitions, but you specifically asked for a subjective one.

Terrorism is a way to undermine the public's confidence in their government's ability to protect them. It is carried out against the populace of a country rather than against the government and armed forces of that country as in traditional warfare, insurrection or revolution.

A terrorist or terrorist organization usually has limited or no political influence. As they operate without the support of an established government or political entity, it is extremely difficult for a target to assign accountability and retaliate.

And, by the way, people who resort to dictionaries are not idiots. That is the proper way to reacquaint yourself with the definition of a term that has become emotionally charged. The face of terrorism may have changed in recent years, but that is a result of technology, not intent.

Consider this definition of terrorism: "The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons."

Whether your terrorist uses a gun, a bomb, or an airplane, the intent is still the same. Whatever the religion or goal of the terrorist, the intent is still the same.

To sum it up in as few words as possible, "terrorist", "terrorism"=Someone who is capable of thinking and carrying out a ruthless, barbaric act with NO regard for human life, whatsoever! Such as befriending us, and taking over our planes and flying them into buildings, killing thousands of innocent people. Meanwhile, the master mind of the whole thing, sits back and laughs!
