The earth is a place that was created by the god that made you and everything around us.

planets are nebulous mass centers that are too far from a forming star to be incorporated into the star's own mass, so it congeals into a planet, which may be gasseous or solid depending on its size and proximity to the star. And if it is a solid planet that is at a distance from the sun where the surface temp is between 0 and 100 degrees celsius, then water can exist at its triple-point and life is possible, if a few other relatively simple factors fall into place.
So no, God did not have the Earth dropped off next to the sun in a giant UPS truck, as described in the Book of Genesis. Who wrote that, anyways? Phil Collins?

a bunch of cosmic crud was drawn together via gravity, and through friction melted into liquid rock, and through time cooled and then there was some rain, and some wearing down of rock, add some evolution or God gettign creative in there, plus a few thousand years of human developmetn and you've the got planet in a nutshell
