Sudan is actually the poorest country in the world according to a world record book...i believe the 2005 edition. The per capita income is about $96 per YEAR......
many countries in africa are the poorest....and many countries are involved in on going wars..tanzania, senegal, niger are often war torn....with the exception of countries in northern and southern africa...most of the continent is really poor and war torn.....not to mention hot days near the equator...but since sudan is the poorest and has run ins with war it'll get my vote

I wouldn't be so excited to live in Iraq at the moment, for obvious reasons.
Considering Countries that are not at war, I would say that East Timor would be a touch place to live. I think the average per capita income is like $250. That's less than $1 per day...
Other than that, I think Antarctica might be a drag. It would be cool at first, but I think the blistering cold and 6 month long nights would get to me after a while.

More than a country, I think the place you ask for is the hell. Something like that, fopr example, is a poor neighborhood where people can't live with very good conditons, due to the carelessness of the governement, cause there you will always find violence and other problems related with unhealthy and insanitary services.

As a woman, I would say Pakistan. Women have absolutely no rights there whatsoever. I have a client that is from there, and she came to the US just so she could get a divorce. She said in her country, a man can get a divorce if he wants, but if a woman wants it, they make it very difficult for her and they don't force the husband to sign the papers, and if he won't sign them, you can't get divorced.
Thank GOD I live in this free country where I can be the woman I was made to be, bi tchy and all!

There are a bunch of 3rd world countries you would not like..
Stay away from Africa & the Mid East..
There is the occasional oasis of civilization almost anywhere you
go and the more money you have, the more oasis's you will find.
To name a few..
Somalia, Sudan, Chad, Iraq, Nigeria, Congo etc. etc...

I think it´s a tie between North Korea, Uzbekistan and Haiti.
I shudder at the idea of having a free thought there. I´d actually be more interested in the best place to live, but hey!... It´s your life!

Sudan and Ethiopia..are very poor and chances of employment
are minute..you are deprived of every thing..even liefs necessities..
Nigeria..is a country where deception ,and bribery wreaks the whole country is in deceitfulness,double dealing ,fraudulence,trickery,under handedness , it is impossible to live a decent life there ..lol
