Yes it is abnormal. Not knowing anything about you I have no way to know what your current fluid intake is or in what shape your urinary system is. It would be helpful to know this and to know the color, clarity (clear or cloudy), and amount your urine is. Oliguria (scanty urine) can be an adverse effect of some medications or can be caused by an imbalance in electrolytes, renal lesions or urinary tract obstruction. It can also be caused by dehydration or urine retention. Try increasing fluids to 3 liters a day and don't delay urination when you feel the urge.
Someone suggested taking potassium. I would advise against this. This is an electrolyte and steady overdosing could cause cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac damage and even death. Please, don't self-medicate.
If increasing your fluids and voiding promptly doesn't help over the next 2 days, make an appointment to see your health care provider. Remember to drink plenty of fluids before you see your provider because I guarantee you will be asked for a urine specimen. Good luck.

How frequently you urinate depends entirely on your liquid intake. If you are only urinating once in a twelve hour period, it sounds as though you may be flirting with dehydration, so urinating only once would not be abnormal. If, however, you were drinking several liters of water in the course of a day and only urinated once, that would indeed be abnormal.
Try increasing your water intake, and see what happens. If your urinary output remains scanty, talk to your doctor. And don't put it off!

Yes
For starters try taking some potassium, then see a doctor, as well as a holistic doctor.
Your body will retain fluids no mater how many fluids you drink without much potassium. But it could be prostrate or urinary infection problems for sure.

YES. Go to the doctor. You could have urinary track infection or who knows what. Look it up on www.webmd.com. It won't replace a trip to the doctor but it is helpful. In the meantime start drinking lots of water and cranberry juice to get your kidneys and bladder flushed out. DO get yourself to the doctor.

It really depends on your fluid intake, they should be somewhat proportional, if not this could be symptomatic of renal problems. Definitely get it checked out, dialysis is not pretty.
