I even tried to rent it at blockbust and they don't have it.
was it everywhere?

(I really don't know if it was, my mom saw it there and then when I went to buy it a day later they didn't have it)

walmart had to take it off the shelves because parents were complaining that minors are able to purchase that movie under the age of 17 when it is suppose to refuse sale to minors.

I've seen this film for sale in places like Toys R Us. The film was rated PG in its U.S. release (not even PG-13).

Hayao Mikazaki makes very beautiful, very challenging animated films. They're probably not for younger children, because they tend to contain some disturbing images. However, they tell wonderful stories, and they do so with real artistry. I absolutely loved both "Howl's Moving Castle" and the earlier "Spirited Away" -- although I have to say that my son (who was 4 at the time) found "Spirited Away" a little frightening in places.

Keep looking; you'll find it. And, if the good folks at WalMart have decided to take it off their shelves for whatever reason...that tells you a lot more about what THEY'RE all about than it does about the film.
