Is the Irish gene dominant?
My daughter's father is from Ireland and my family comes from Germany: she looks and acts Irish.
-Maybe this is because Ireland was inhabited before Germany and the Irish are an older race of people.-The earliest Irish settlers are believed to have arrived in Ireland between eight and nine thousand years ago

I would not think so. I'm half German and 1/4 Swedish and look German. I know that the extra 1/4 does that but it is just the German/Irish people you have had the pleasure of meeting.

I'm half Irish / German, & people always guess greman. Maybe it's because I'm grumpy? lol

It seems to be the nose that will be the only thing to give away you are german. Most people don't know what a german looks like vs an irish!

My sainted grandmother (from Derby) always said that if you have even the tiniest drop of Irish blood in you...you're Irish.

Call it the Celt Gene.

I'm half Irish half dutch and i don't look like either. So it's really hard to say.
My mom is full dutch and she has red hair and green eyes.
Strange how things work.
