Hah! I grew up in the 'Burgh. I never knew Pittsburgh had the "Pittsburghese" dialect until I moved away. I love the PNC Park and Heinz Field where the "Stillers" play. And Clemente Bridge leading from "dahntahn" to PNC. How are things in 'sliberty? I spent my youth on the hill overlooking the "Sahside". I gotta go and redd up the haase, and get my terrible towel ahta the drar. Beat 'Em Bucs and Go Steelers. I hope younz have a good day.

Sorry.. I must have missed that one. I was in Pittsburgh but I do not remember the accent. It is possible that I was not there long enough to notice.

I think there is more of a Pennyslvania Dutch accent in general. I notice it in my kids, especially one of my daughters when she is around her grandparents who are native Pennyslvanians. I could always tell it in my ex father in laws talking. And now my kids spend time in the summer in Pennyslvania and I still notice it.

I always though it sounded a bit like NYC/Brooklyn. I grew up in NYC and have lived in Georgia, Ohio and Arizona and most people can tell where I am from.

I had no idea until I went there. I had no idea what "yenz all" meant. After I got used to it, I thought it was kind of fun to hear. I think it may get old after a while though.
