The Greensman (or should that be Greensperson) have these special hover boots made especially for this occasion.

This means they can hover a few centimetres above the surface whilst putting their little sign in the ground so they themselves can keep off the grass too!!

I thought everyone knew that?!

They have a very cleverly engineered cantilever system, with counterweights to make sure the person on the end doesn't tip the device over.

Either that or they put down wooden planks temporarily, to spread their weight out over the grass, so that no one blade gets too much force on it.

Or maybe it's just repeated walking on the grass which wears it away, so only one person going out there once is acceptable.

I prefer the first option.

It's pretty obvious - cranes.

Cranes can be trained if you take them from an early age and begin their education as soon as possible. . .

If you can begin by only turning the eggs with a mechanical device, you are well on the way.

They clearly do not have the correct lifting gear built in (so much for an ordered universe designed by god!) so you have to get them used to harnesses pretty soon after hatching.

Make sure that the RSPCA check on your Train Plain Cranes Sign Sine School before you apply for limited levitation lifting licences, or tears may flow.
