When I was a little kid, a family friend always used to bring these things for my brother and I to play with. It came as a package with a background picture and some different rub-on or scratch-off stickers so that you could create your own scene with the characters. They were pretty popular back in the late 1970's/early 1980's. If I recall correctly, some had super heroes and you could create your own scene. I've been trying to track them down for my niece and nephew, but cannot find them anywhere. Does anyone remember what they were called and if they are still in production or available?

They were like Colorforms (tm), but instead of peeling them up and reusing the image in another place, once the sticker was on, it was on to stay.

Think more along the lines of rub on tattoos. Instead of putting them on your skin, though, you would rub the stickers onto a background and create your own picture. And they were not re-usable.

They are called ColorForms and I used to love those. They range from just shapes to pictures such as Sesame Street.

Oh, just saw your detail. Oops.

I think they are just called sticker books, but the reusable ones are more fun in my opinion. You can buy sticker books at wal-mart.
