Just recently we have had wasps coming up from under our deck. I took the lattice off to look under there but couldn't see any nests but they are definetely coming from under there. I just went to Home Depot and bought a Wasp trap hoping that it will work but was just wondering if anyone had any other suggestions.

well get wasp spray and make sure you are protected cause they get angry. my mom used to take a water hose to shoot at where the nest might be to get out and use the wasp spray. you might have to orkin though if its under your deck. quite unusal since wasps normally build nest in the air

A wasp or two can be killed by hairspray. Get a good squirt or spray on them and when the hairspray dries, the wasp's wings get stiff and it can't fly. A good stomp will finish him off. An oooolllldddd timer's way to get rid of them is to hang a clear plastic bag (like a seal-able, zip-top sandwich bag) full of clear water over your door or where ever you don't want them (deck, garage, porch.) For some reason they don't like the bag. This is also supposed to keep flies away.

Their nest is probably under the deck near where the deck and house meet...somewhere.

If that is accessible, I would just get the Wasp Killer spray and run it along the whole area there. Worked in my shed anyways, but that had easier access.

The best solution is to directly treat the nest with wasp spray. This type of treatment will kill the existing wasps, as well as, any larvae in the nest.

Spray the deck and the surrounding area with either liquid seven or malathion.Do this every couple of days or as needed.

Take a sandwich bag with a zip top, place about 10-15 moth balls inside and zip it up. Punch several holes in bag. Hang it up near where you see them coming out. Hopefully this would work
