She's really, really nice and laid back most of the time. But I know we're all in for in when she comes home with a ton of chocolate. That's usually the first sign.

Normally, she wouldn't care, but my four year old son and her five year old daughter got into her Mallomars- and she grounded them from watching the Disney Channel for a month.

I think she's overreacting, but I don't want to tell her that.

So, is the chocolate thing normal? And did she overreact? They did eat the whole box after she told them not to touch them, but still.... they're just little kids.

Yes, the chocolate thing is not only normal but pretty much required by most women. I acutally used to eat a tub of milk chocolate frosting from Duncan Hines once a month.
And during this time, yes, she will fly off the handle because the hormones are doing their whole ebb & flow...
Just relax-- I don't think she was over reacting when grounding the kids either. She told them Not to touch them, and they did. If they ate the whole box, then that's not good for them either and it shows a complete lack of respect. Damn right a month from the Disney channel won't kill them...

It is a fact of life that generally women act this way(or in a similar fashion) when certain times of the month come along, however taking it out on the kids isn't really on. So you're gonna need to say something before they become the scapegoats every time she feels this way.

Of course this is normal the time around a womans period usually increases the possibility of them being pissed off and blowing up over small things, and also this is what causes the chocolate craving. Keep a secret stash of chocolate to ration out to her if her chocolate gets eaten again then atleast she won't be mad at you.

Maybe she is overreacting... but I don't see any harm in what she did. Do kids need to watch TV? I don't think so. A month without TV isn't going to hurt them. It'll be good for them to learn to entertain themselves doing something else. Four and Five are old enough to learn not to eat food that doesn't belong to them.

Yeah! Go with the flow Dude and buy her the chocolate before hand. Real cocoa.. not the artificial crap. It boosts the seritonin levels in the body. Chocolate is GOOD for everyone.

while it's true she may be over-reacting.. that time of the month hits women in different ways.. some of us are worse off than others.. all I can say his God Speed... and just steer clear when you see it coming lol... not too much we women can do about the hormones especially if we forget what time of month it is ourselves by then it's too late.

if it's usually the same time every month, it could just be the time for the menstrual cycle. i mean, woman tend to get depressed, angry, or extremely emotional around that sort of time. PMS tends to do that to you. :)
