How tall are you? Lots of people weigh around 115 and are healthy - but if you are too tall, weighing 115 CAN be a sign of anorexia.

There are four basic criteria for the diagnosis of anorexia nervosa that are characteristic [listed by the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition]:

1. The refusal to maintain body weight at or above a minimally normal weight for age and height. Body weight less than 85% of the expected weight is considered minimal.
2. An intense fear of gaining weight or becoming fat, even though the person is underweight.
3. Self-perception that is grossly distorted and weight loss that is not acknowledged.
4. In women who have already begun their menstrual cycle, at least three consecutive periods are missed (amenorrhea), or menstrual periods occur only after a hormone is administered.

There is more, but if you do not have those four, you are NOT anorexic. If you suffer from a few of them, however, you might be suffering from EDNOS - Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified - which can be just, if not more dangerous.

If losing these 17ish pounds have gotten SO important to you that it is really affecting your life, it COULD be an eating disorder and it definitely sounds like the beginning of one. I definitely suggest, if it all possible, to go see a doctor. He can either tell you that you are thinking unhealthily and help you get help with that, or he can tell you that you are fine and get your dad off your back!

First of all how tall are you? Second, magizines erase & reduce the size of a female to make them look good. Third, they hardly eat at all, they have people telling them when you can eat. 132 is not a fat weight at all. But if you do want to cut back on some weight eat healthy. Cut out anything greassy or fried. Eat 3 good meals a day. If you get hungry in between eat a healthy snack such as : apples, banannas, pears, small salad, etc.

sounds like beginning stages of anorexia to me. those model type chicks are starving themselves. and in no way look good. why would u want 2 look like a hanger to put clothes on? real women dont look like that. and at 132 pounds, U ARE NOT FAT!!! i think u may need some professional help. b4 u get too out of control with this. being 2 preoccupied with ur weight isnt a good thing. and could lead 2 many, many health problems, even death.

You don't say how tall you are,but the media plays a big part in this by glamorizing people who wear size 2. You need a better self image of yourself. You are you. Not them. Be happy with yourself. People love you as you are. Accept that you are worth loving as you are. Wanting to lose weight is a wonderful goal as long as you do it for YOU and not to 'keep up with the Joneses" (not because it looks good on someone else)

Do you starve yourself or binge and purge? If not i doubt you have an eating disorder. There is a disorder called body dismorphic disorder that makes ppl think there ugly or fat when there not. I dont think you'll die if you lose down to 115 as long as u do it the right way.

It depends on your body type and height. How tall are you? The girls that you mention are at the very skinny end of the thin spectrum...be careful and try to make YOUR body look the best it can....work with what you have not what others have....First off, be healthy! Nourish yourself with a proper diet and exercise.

Your ideal weight depends on your height. Try the Discovery Health site for more info.
Anorexia is starving yourself to be thin, not just wanted to be thin. As long as you exercise but keep eating the proper amount of calories, you can get thin and be healthy too!

Well it depends. I doubt you'd die if you lost that much by going on a diet. How tall are you? If you are about 5'4. you'd be ok, but thin. It all depends on your age, height and body structure. It's only anorexia if you starve yourself.
