I think that most people understand that the movie is a tribute to the American spirit and more specifically the spirit of New York.
Being a New Yorker, myself, I think that the city hasn't healed -and I'm not sure if that can't be said for the entire country...
I haven't seen either movie that you mentioned; but, when I think of 9/11, I still get upset and when I see the commerical for The World Trade Center movie, I look away.
I do think it is too early for the movie because we have not forgotten and I believe that "we will never forget."

i think its a great movie but not sure how i would feel about it if someone close to me had died there. You need to look at every aspect & take in how the family feels about this movie. These people have lost so much and i can understand why some of them would disagree with the movie being made.

I think it is picking at a scab, and it just won't heal if you keep picking at it. Plus, it'll leave a scar.
The whole 9/11 thing has been done to freaking death. It's past time to get over it. This constant whining and moaning is sick.
Oh, and while we're talking about people who risked their lives and rescued people ... shut the hell up about firefighters and cops. They do a JOB. It is their JOB and they CHOOSE to do their JOB. Yes, it's a tough job ... that's why they get paid and are allowed to act like primadonas.
If we're talking about tough jobs, let's talk about plumbers, and coast guardsmen, and lumberjacks, and heavy equipment operators and ... shoot, if they PAY you to do a piece of work, it's probably because no one would do it for free. On the other hand, if you are paid to do it, do it and shut up.
Grow some balls, America.

once I observed the preview for it I almost gagged. all of us who theory it became a good project could be crushed under metallic, like the damaging souls they disrespected. This action picture became no longer approximately memory of the lost, or gratitude for the heroes, if it have been, this would have been a tribute action picture performed at floor 0, or unfastened on cable. No, it incredibly is basically a potential of coming up Hollywood money. Thier hoping to capatalize on the intrest on a countrywide tragedy. and that they forged Nicolas Cage? how could a good actor including himself droop to this point? i'm appaled, Fvcking appalled.

My husband and I watch that movie today. Its are 23 years of marriage anniversary today.
We find that the movie was excellent and that we did not know how serious things happen on that day.Its real and its sad that all those people had to die.Its a good eye opener for people like us.

I have a problem with the producers making money from a tragic crime that has the perp. OBL still on the loose, maybe if the whole terror war deal was over with I'd feel different.
