Yahoo has a blog called Yahoo! 360. Recommendable if you want a feature-filled blog.
If you're looking for simpler things, Blogger is just a simple directory of blogs. You can make your own and host it there.

Blogger is an awesome free blog website. My creative writing class had a blogspot called Stranger than Wal-Mart. The address is www.blogspot.com. It's different from the whole myspace scene, but still really cool, and I highly recommend it.

Definitly not MySpace, its a great web community but its blog system blows.
Since you already have a yahoo account you could just use the yahoo 360 blog feature, its pretty good.
Other than that there is blogger, greatestjournal, etc. Just google it. :)

All the core functions of a blog without the added crap that comes with MySpace. It's run by Google, which is one more point for it in my book.
(You have the option of adding Google AdSense ads to bring in some pocket change if you'd like, too.)

Why don't you start at www.neigo.com, try it out online. This has very user friendly interface. It’s simple but also very useful. Nice interacting tool that allow you share your thought with your online friends. Also you can insert as many as pictures you like from your photo album

I second Blogger (http://www.blogger.com/) free and very simple to use!
I signed up for it and was blogging within 5 minutes. They also include some standard templates and stuff which allows you to customize your site easily.
