The movie 8 below is based on a true story. Is there a book that accompanies it as well? I know that it's based on a Japanese film, but I was looking specifically for a book.

The 1958 ill-fated Japanese expedition to Antarctica inspired the 1983 hit movie entitled Nankyoku Monogatari. 'Eight Below' is the fictional re-interpretation of the true events of the 1958 occurrence.
