It sounds like you most likely have a hard drive failure in progress. First, backup all of your data onto another hard drive. After you've completed that, you will probably want to contact technical support from your location of purchase.
That "grinding noise" is one of the most common signs of a hard drive that is about to die. My best advice is to have the hard drive replaced as it isn't going to get better.

After analyzing all those different solutions, it got here approximately to me that the subject might ok don't have something to do with the OS, viruses, or any of that different nonsense. in simple terms placed, it ought to in all probability be a subject such as what I had it sluggish in the past. i replaced into experiencing an identical hassles, the only factor i ought to do replaced into to close it down and take a examine out back later Lo and behold, i desperate to get a bigger not hardship-free stress sooner or later, I put in it and the subject disappeared. WHY? It seems that the subject replaced into that the HDD replaced into at fault. A techie instructed me after finding out it, that a capacitor (a thingie that holds a charge for a undeniable length of time) interior the HDD replaced into not functioning and as a result it replaced into overheating and closing itself down. answer: Get yet another HDD, installation the OS, installation all your backups and/or reinstall any courses or video games you like. a lot of artwork, yet regardless of the certainty that, a comp. is in basic terms slightly hardware, it could and does destroy down with the aid of no fault of your man or woman. ;-)

When was the last time you checked for spyware/adware/viruses/unwanted software? That may be clogging your RAM and forcing the computer to freeze up, if all else fails, try a system restore.

F*ck HP! Also, F*ck Laptops! They go to hell after the first 5 months. All computers and laptops do that. What the hell is wrong with their creators?
I'd try to fix it by throwing it against the wall!
