Is there a statue of limitations on DWI? If not why not? I can assault you with a gun and there is a statue. I can rape your daughter and theres a statue. But if I drive a car under the influance of a drug called alcohol my life becomes a living hell. WHY? From what I understand We The People can sue a known drug dealer for turning our childeren into junkies. Well then why can we not sue the us goverment for turning us into alcoholics. It's a drug! They sell it! But see It's "OK" for them to do that. And It's OK for them to arrest us and pay LARGE fines and court cost ECT.. And after all that THEN you must deal with DMV which is just another court to deal with so is this not DOUBLE JEPERDY. Anything else in the court system would be considered as much. I have met many people out there in the world that became wino's and street people with no hope in life due to a "DRIVERS LICENE. Catch 22 against the people.

The government allows businesses to sell alcohol, but it sets certain restrictions - like the age limit, the time an establishment can be open for business, the fact that you can't sell alcohol near a school or church. You, ultimately, are responsible for your actions - and if you get drunk and get stopped by police, that is your fault - not the governments.

How could you even think that it is the government's fault? That is really streatching things and does not make any sense. And no, dealing with the DMV does not constitute double jeapordy. The DMV determines (in a civil - not criminal manner) if you should have your license suspended or revoked. I don't know what Catch 22 you are talking about - but just remember - If you drink - Don't drive.

Hmmm... A little testy over our DUI, are we?

Sure, there's a statute of limitations. The clock started when the cop pulled you over and ended when he ID'd you and ascertained that you were drunk. All of 10 minutes, maybe.

The DMV isn't a court. It's an administrative function of the government. Their actions are administrative in nature. But you're right, there's no double jeorpardy there. Your license isn't a right, it's a priviledge. You tossed the priviledge into the bottle when you drove drunk. Deal with it!

Your life became a living hell because YOU chose to drive drunk. Nobody put a gun to your head and forced you to do so. Don't blame the government or society because YOU got screwed because of what YOU did.

People get all worked up over terrorism but we'd have to repeat 9/11 every 38 days for terrorism to cost as many lives as drunk drivers like you cause every year. I'm glad that you're off the road, and if you turn into a skid-row wino as a result that's your problem.

Get help for your addiction and get down off that creaky soapbox. Nobody wants to hear a drunk complain about being called to task, especially me.

Okay you want to sue the government for selling you alcohol?
The difference between a drug dealer selling crack or weed
and the Govt allowing Alcohol to be sold is that Crack and weed are illegal to buy and sell.
And its you own stupid fault if you get caught drinking and driving the government didn't ask you to go and do it, they sold you alcohol because they expect you to handle it responsibly.
Were you by any chance drunk when you asked this, you misspelled license
