On my old computer, everytime I click on a file (such as my documents, my computer, etc.) it opens a new window that shows only the search bar, not any files. The only way to get to my files is to click "Floders" at the top, and then keep clicking on the left panel to get to the exact file I need. Is there anything I could do to make it show the folder I opened, instead of strting up search? It has been like this for about a year, and I want my computer back to normal! Also, when I open up the start menu, and I click or scroll over "All Programs" nothing pops up, no matter how long I wait or what I do. Help please.

Your windows may be opening in minimized mode, to see if they are, right click on the title bar of the window and choose "Maximize"
If the window comes back just resize it to the size you want.

huh? the way you sound, no wonder your computer is confused

go to tools > folder options, and see if you can play around with the check boxes to get what you want

The OS can be corrupt, you might have a virus or the hardware is failing.
