Anything like syrup or sugar. Also, they are not fussy at all. They just love to sting people, and they hurt!!

Chow!!

We often have birch beer on tap at our picnics for the kids. The yellow jackets LOVE it. They were always buzzing around the tap, and the kids were scared to death. So we took cups of birch beer and placed them far away from where people were. It kept them away. Not100% effective, but it sure did help!
