Well, Neddie gave you a DUMB answer. Evidently she is unaware he butchered his own people and tortured and killed those who opposed him.

Of course, they would like a life without bombs and war, but it is some Iraqis who are the cause of the current war preventing the huge majority of Iraqis the opportunity to implement a democracy that is peaceful. I am sure even you know that!!

I think that most people prefer a life without bombings and war over the type of government.

The trick is seeing what type of government will get you that life in the long run.

The situation under Saddam was exacerbated mainly because of UN sanctions. If they could get Saddam back w o the sanctions, they would probably be happy.

I suppose you think they would prefer to have el dictator Saddam back in power so he could murder a few thousand to keep the rest in line?

Democracy is earned. If those people want democracy, noone can give it to them. They have to believe in it themselves, and make it happen.
