TARJA HALONEN of Finland. Now serving a second 6-year term, She is being spoken of as a future UN Secretary-General,

Halonen's approval ratings reached a peak of 88% in December 2003. In the most recent survey made in February 12, 2006 her approval rate was at 74%. She is widely regarded as an easily approachable and down-to-earth person. Many people appreciate that she has made a career from modest circumstances due to her own competence, which has great value for meritocracy-minded Finns. Halonen was nominated as one of the top ten members of the "Suuret Suomalaiset" (greatest Finns) TV special in 2004, the only living person to be included.

Who do I think the coolest "leader" in the world was?

Well, my favorite president in History is Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The man responsible for Social Security, the FDIC, the Worker's Progress Administration, saving our country - possibly the planet - from the Great Depression with his New Deal. No wonder he was elected four times to the Oval office.

Next would have to be William Jefferson Clinton, because of his awesome record as president. He turned a record budget deficit into a record budget surplus, returned our country to paying down our national debt, crime rates were falling, abortion rates were falling, poverty was falling, over 20 million jobs were created (a large portion of that being in the private sector), the largest peacetime expansion in our economy's history, low unemployment, plus so much more that I can't think of right now.

James Knox Polk would be next...he was the only President to keep EVERY promise that he made before becoming President.

We would need someone with the combined talents of the three aforementioned to fix our nation right now, following the crisis that has been BOOsh's tenure.

Vaclav Havel of the Czech Republic as he is an intelligent and imaginative writer and was for many years a leading dissident, jailed for his opposition to the regime.

Apart from Agostinho Neto of Angola, who was a poet, I can't think of many Presidents who are or were writers, can you?

And politics is the poorer for that
