Since the PS3 cancelled the making of the game Smackdown vs. raw 2007 i wanna get it for the PS2 and play it on the PS3. But i am not sure if the PS3 is backwards compatible. OH yeah and is the xbox 360 worth getting?

The PS3 will be able to play all PS2 games, I am not sure about PS1. THe Xbox 360 is worth getting, it has better graphics than the PS3, but the PS3 is 3x faster and the 360 can't play all xbox games. Plus the PS3 will be like $400 and the 360 is somewhere around $300. And the 360 will have the new Halo game the Forerunner. There both realy good systems and I would get both.

Ps3 will be fully backwards compatible.
The 360 is a great system. It all depends on what you are into, and I think this current gen lineup should tell you that. Whatever console is giving you the greatest enjoyment, stick with that for the next wave. I loved Xbox more than the other 2 combined, so I am staying with 360.
Many of the GREAT games will be available on all 3 systems anyway. But each one has it games that are only for it (for example, if you want to play Mario, Zelda or Starfox...you HAVE to buy a Nintendo system).
If you plan on getting the ps3...I would save your money. Console, extra controller and few games...you are going to be close to a grand

Yes, Ps3 CAN play both PS2 AND PS1 games. It can also save Ps2 and Ps1 games. BUT if you have a saved game on Ps2 OR ps1 you have to buy an adapter.. see on yahho web.
Basically it can play both ps1 and 2 games and it can also save both console games..
XBOX360 IS a worth buying for because of its great games, backwards compatibility with the Xbox, Its graphics, and its price.
Games for 360 are HAlo 3, Knockout(Boxing suggestion), and deadrising, Zombie game

I heard that PS3 will play PS2 games but not PS1. Xbox 360 is alright there just is not enough of a selection of games yet, I think.

yes PS3 is backwards compatible. no Xbox 360 is not worth it looks the same as the old Xbox. go with ps3 it rocks

No it will not be compatible. not even DVDs it will play the new DVDs technology, the ones we have right now are obsolete for that machine.
