It took me a while to understand your question. You should consider rewriting it.
However, If you take away North and South American countries, the nearest territory is Denmark. Greenland is a part of Denmark so this should be the closest. However, Russia is really the closest geographicaly. There is a very small gap between Russia and Alaska.

The US is in North America, for crying out loud man.
And seeing as Mexico is in central america it would have to be the one. And normally we would call North and South America a continent not a country. Jeees.
