There are some very good teams in the ACC and if you combine the total bowl wins the ACC is best. Miami, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Maryland, and NC State, Virginia, Wake Forest, Maryland are pretty good teams and North Carolina is getting better with Duke still lagging behind. Remember that Georgia Tech beat Auburn in the opener last season and the ACC especially with Miami has won several National Championships. The SEC is historically the toughest conference with many powerful teams in it as well and probably just a little better than the ACC but not for long!

Sorry if you were hoping for a "yes"... SEC is the strongest this year. If you are looking at the preseason polls, they are usually pretty worthless. Still, they have the top ranked ACC team being either close to, or out of, the top 10. Even the Big East has 2 teams in the top 15 preseason. ACC may be very good from Miami, FSU, VT, to Clemson, but other than that, they need another team to step up and make an impact, as well as some key non-conference victories. We won't know until the games are played, but it seems to me that from top to bottom ACC is 2nd to the SEC. A close 2nd, but still 2nd.

No.... But the ACC does have a lot of great NFL talent. The ACC has had 26 players drafted in the first round the last 3 years (12 just this past year).
The toughest conference's in football this year are as follows:
1. SEC
2. Big 10
3. ACC
4. Big 12
5. Pac 10
6. Big East
7. Conference USA
8. Mountain West
9. MAC
10. WAC
11. Sun Belt

SEC by far!! They have I think 8 or 9 teams in the top 30. They also have some deep heated rivalries that the ACC has not developed yet. They will need a few more years to become a super conference in football.

Not even close. The top 4 imports may be good, but the bottom 8 original conference members blow in football.
