That depends on the society you live in. In western cultures, it is becoming less and less true, but in "less advanced" cultures, that may be the case. Here's an example of that question turned around. In Africa (not the modernized parts), the women are the ones that do all the hard work such as farming and gathering the firewood, and the men are the ones that reap the profits of it and spend all their money at the bars and on other women (i.e. hookers). Legally, the men are the owners of the land, but many do nothing to help the women with the work. So, I guess I'm neutral.

Love is give and take. Most people find how that works for their individual relationship. What matters is if two lovers find a way to make their life together work so as they are both happy. Although antiquated, If that means the man only works and the woman keeps house, more power to them, but there are other ways of doing things, no?

AGAINST!
1. Men and women work hard.
2. Women do spend excessively!
3. Men also spend money like it's going out of style!

Men like women to think they work harder than women, but it isn't always true. Some women work just as hard, if not harder than men.
Ideally women should be paid for the work they do at home (housekeeping, child care, errand-running).
Some women (like me) work full time AND raise a family. The money is for whoever is part of my family. Sharing is honorable and good.
Nobody should be a freeloader.

This is why romance is dead. In today's society, women can't get by with out bringing anything to the relationship. A vagina for life just isn't going to cut it. Men are looking at marraige as partly a business arrangement because they get F'd in the court system. And with 70% of divorce innitiated by women, the odds aren't good for us.
I ain't saying she's a gold digger......

For. I get cranky if I can't shop. Actually, a woman should stay home and take care of the children , the house, and her man. That is working hard too.

Where is the justice in this scenario? No man is a slave to a woman, and vice versa. Do you think that every cent a husband makes should be spent by the wife? Doesn't this seem wrong to you?

The woman is there to complete the man... She is there to serve the man, thereby serving God... If she dishonors her husband, she dishonors God... Plain & simple... You'd find me on your "against" side...
There's a book out you might like to read called "Help Meet" by Debi Pearl... It'll fill in a lot of information you're in need of... Here's the website:
