I could so seriously consider a McCain-Lieberman ticket.

Two respected moderates from opposite parties. It'll never happen, unfortunately.

Over and over again, I have demanded that people not even attempt to discuss the presidential election until after the Congressional. Reason being that everything seems to depend on the outcome of these races.

If Democrats regain both houses of Congress, it is likely that the Repubclians will retain the White House (historically). If Democrats gain one house of Congress, then they are in a great position to finally regain the WH.

Fact of the matter is that if Democrats don't at least retake one house, then it will be very evident that a change is definitely needed in campaign strategy altogether. New Leadership will be needed as well.

Who would I like to see run for President and Vice President as everything stands right now? Al Gore and John Edwards, or any combination that includes the aforementioned in addition to Russ Feingold, Dennis Kucinich, possibly Howard Dean and maybe John Kerry (I'm still upset about the way he dropped out of the 04' race). I will NOT support Hillary, because she has shown too much willingness to compromise what is right in order to retain her grip on power.

If it weren't for the basic unfairness of the last election's rules, I think Kerry could have won... the electronic voting machines, worse than being unreliable, are also very expensive, so in poorer urban districts, which are more democratic and also have a higher population density, had less income tax funds and therefore less voting machines, and people had to wait in excess of 9 hours in line to vote. In rich districts, however, with lower population density and more funds, there were plenty of machines and nobody had to wait... voting was much more convenient for them.

It's sad... there would have been a certain poetic justice in a founder of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War being elected president during the Iraq war. But he certainly made some mistakes in the campaign, and the cards were stacked against him anyway. Still, I'm not sure he shouldn't give it another try.

The ones who should run. I would go with any combination of John McCain, Colin Powell, John Edwards, and Barack Obama that you can think of (as president and vice president running mates). I wouldn't mind voting for Hilary Clinton and Condoleeza Rice running together in either combination either, both are very intelligent and with them together there is a good chance we will get the middle-of-the-road compromise that has always worked best in the past (though I know those two would never run together, I think they would actually make a pretty good team).
