In college....do people really have random one noght stands and stuff all the time? Is it really bad that I would not want to have any one night stands.....I don't mind going to parties and having fun and stuff....Is there really as much pressure and stuff as I hear? I am going to be a freshman in a few weeks.....And am really nervous.

No, that is not true. I've never had a one-night stand and don't intend on it either. As long as you chose your friends wisely, there shouldn't be too much pressure on you to do bad things. I have great friends, none of which smoke, have random sex, or drink too much. We still have fun, but don't go overboard. However, when attending large parties where everyone has had too much alcohol, you never know what will happen. Just go out and have fun, but know your limits. You don't want to wake up in the morning with huge regrets.

No not everyone has one night stands and the pressure isn't that bad. It is how you present yourself when you go to parties. If you are dressed like you are looking for some action then it will find you but if you just dress nice and don't act all supper flirty then more than likely you will just find a nice guy who will understand that your not looking for a one night stand. Hey when I was in college we called one night stands "sport f***ing" we would say so and so is off getting their excessive for the day. Just remember it is all how you present yourself. You will see the first party you go to the girls that are looking to sport f*** will be dressed with not much on and they will be the ones getting super drunk and sitting/hanging on all the guys laps. Don't be nervous just go and have a good time. Just remember academics should be number one before anything else and that is where the most pressure is going to be. People trying to get you not to do your home work or not to go to class cause they want you to go do something supper fun with them. Good luck:-)

If people are pissy drunk sure they have one night stands. Its okay that you dont want any one night stands I dont either and I dont feel uncool about doing that. People just like to mess with freshmen because its fun. Its good that you dont want to just have random sex with just anybody. The main thing in college is to study anyways. Its okay to party and have fun as long as you are R E S P O N S I B L E.

No, not everyone! It is important to find people to hang out with who share your beliefs. Colleges are huge with tons of people who live all sorts of different ways and it usually isn't hard to find a lot of people to hang out with. People who cry "it was the pressure" are just making excuses! You go off to college because you are grown up and are expected to make your own decisions! Of course others will want you to make the same decisions as them--that doesn't end even when you're 37 like me! Hold strong and shop for friends beyond your roommate.

Chill. Not everyone does it, and it is better if you don't because then you won't have to deal with all of the drama and possible STD risks that come with it.
College is what you make of it. Nobody will hate you if you don't sleep around. Unless you are a tease. Just be yourself and have fun and learn a few things - that is what college is about.

Quite a few do, but not everyone. I applaud your not wanting to behave that way -- just go ahead and be your wonderful self with your high standards! You are worth waiting for, so don't settle for loser guys who insist on casual sex.
You'll maintain better physical and emotional health, and be proud of yourself. Many are sorry they rushed it; very few are sorry they waited. You can always go ahead when the time is right, but you can't go back once you've foolishly, if well-meaningly, indulged.

Not everyone has one night stands and its not bad that you dont want to. Sometimes these one night stands can be the biggest mistake of you life.
