Bubbles normally occur because of poor initial application. Where there are lots of bubbles, replace the paper. Where there are only a few bubbles, repair as shown.

Tools and materials
Craft knife, PVA adhesive, fitch, sponge

Using a craft knife, cut open the bubble with a cross cut Open out the four leaves of the cut and apply a small amount of PVA adhesive with a fitch Use a sponge to smooth the leaves back into place, and allow to dry thoroughly.

Ok, my take on it...

Get an exacto knife, and make a small slice in the bubble...

Now, get one of those "glue hypodermics", (you can find them in hardware stores and craft shops, or woodworking places)...and NO, an insulin hypodermic wont work...

Put some glue in the hypo and inject it behind the bubble where you put the slice...

Now, get a plastic credit card and force the glue into all the area of the bubble, and afterwards, force it back to the slice , and wipe off any extra.

When it dries, you should never even know it was done... (remember, DONT STRETCH THE WALL PAPER, or it will look terrible - reason for the plastic credit card and not your hands).

I wish you well..

WilburJ:

If you want an invisible repair, use a horse syringe. Some flooring suppliers carry them for the vinyl installers. When they have a bubble, they inject contact cement and smooth it down. You could use Elmer's glue and accomplish your mission.

Take a needle and poke a hole in the bubble then gently push the air out.

You have to make a cut where you think you can match a seam cause there will be an overlap when the air is gone. Match and re glue.
