My friend told me she saw a ghost of the former owner of the house she lived in. Shes my friend, so i guess i can rule her out as being crazy. shes pretty normal so, i guess i can call her a liar.
I myself, have never seen one before, so i dont believe in them, but skeptical. What do you people think?. If ghosts are real, what can they be?. a rip in time, something caused by a person.

yes. yes they do. i believe that the people who are actually stating they've seen ghosts are capable of sensing more than the average person of their environment...winds in the trees, chirping of crickets or frogs, the actual sound the wings of a hummingbird makes, people that are what you may call hypersensitive. these people are usually very much in touch with the forces of nature and may not even realize it. God created all things, and gave some people the talent to appreciate everything He has created, rather than the average everyday pleasures of life. i have often wished i could be that sensitive, but have never succeeded. i would very much believe your friend and in fact would ask her more about the experience...what happened just before her sighting, how did it make her feel, what did she do when she saw the person, how did she feel afterward, encourage her to talk more about it and maybe you could learn something from her.

I personally, being a skeptic, do not believe in ghosts, as it does interfere with mainstream science as we know it. I wrote an article about it, here it is:

Do Ghosts Really Exist?

For the last millennia, certain rare people have reported sightings of ghosts. Are they really ghosts? Or are they just an illusion?

I for one do not believe in ghosts, even though I strongly believe in aliens. There are many different things that can explain a ghost sighting or “feeling”. Most people, before they see a ghost, they feel a chill. Well, sometimes when you’re really scared, you shiver, and that effect may be mistaken for chill. But what about seeing ghosts, how do you explain that? Well, as you know, what we see is not what it’s actually there, our eyes detect electromagnetic radiation and our brain converts that radiation into a picture. So what if there’s an electromagnetic field around that area, the electromagnetic field can mess up how your brain interpret things, and those fields may become visible as ghosts! Lately, scientists have also concluded that infrasound, sound to low too be heard, may contribute to your brain’s interpretations as well. When there is infrasound, you start feeling that there is a presence near you, when in reality, there’s nothing. And there’s always the possibility of hallucination either with an illness or a drug.

However, could there be another, not so skeptic explanation for ghosts? Could we be mistaking them for aliens? Scientists are always intrigued by the possibilities of higher dimensions. Imagine this, two universes, each only 1 mm away from each other, yet each of them is tens of billions of light years in radius. All they need to be is in a different fourth dimension from each other, and they’re totally out of contact from each other. Or are they? Could aliens be using holes in space to go through a portal to put only a very small portion of their body in our 3 dimensions, so small a portion that it’s transparent? It has been hypothesized that gravity may be able to escape our universe. Could the universes’ huge amounts of gravitational fields be the cause of ghosts? We’ll never know.

I do not believe that ghosts actually exist. However, I do believe our earth and atmosphere have plenty of capacity to "replay" past events. For example, many different types of radiation (example: radio) or magnetism can record events and store them just like on video casettes. These transmissions can be released again years or even decades later when conditions are right. These may be experienced as sounds or image streams. Yes, I believe these transmissions occassionally may result in what some of us may call "ghost sightings". These are nothing more than echos of previous events. They cannot interact with the present in any appreciable way.

Ghosts are real. There is no doubt in my mind. My experience with them out numerous from since I was two.
At two years old my dad's brother had been dead for a few years and they never told me about him because I was so young. When we were going to a family reuinion I had a dream about my dead Uncle Mike and he spoke to me and told me that he loved me and my dad. Later I asked my dad if Mike was coming to the reunion and he told me he was dead. Keep in mind they never told me about him.
When I was 7 I was up in the bleachers above a football stadium. There were teenagers jogging around the field, practicing. I was watching them when I saw a white outline of a man jogging. I could see right through him and there were no visable features, just and outline. I rubbed my eyes thinking I must be seeing things, but it did not go away. I looked over at a person who was right next to me, but they did not seem disturbed by what I saw and they probably didnt see it at all. I looked back and the shape was still there jogging like the other teens then dissapered.
Also when I was 7 I was sitting in a chair watching TV and my mom was on my right side where our halway door was. On the left of the halway was my room on the right my brothers. I glanced over to the hallway for a second and I saw a black and red fash go from my room to my brothers. My cousin saw the some thing going from my brothers to mine.
Just a couple weeks ago me and my cousin were in a "haunted" resteraunt there was one particular room that these two lover ghosts haunted, which was where they died. We went into it and felt a chill as soon as you steped in it was right next door to the kitchen whick makes it even stranger becuase just outside of the door it was very hot. AS soon as we walked in I started to read words under this picture that was suposed to be of a ghost. As I read aloud the lights flickered on and off. I stood there paralized and my cousin thought it was me because I was so close to the light switch. Then it did it again and he could plainly see I did not do it. We ran and came back later when it happend again then we ran again and went back and it happend again, that happend several more times so we decided not to go in anymore. And jsut recently we visited again and the same thing happend.

If you do not beleive in ghost I will not think any less of you but I have experiennced them and knew them, I will be eternaly mesmerised by these poltergists and probably continue to see them. By the way ghosts are spirits traped here on earth because of unanswered questions or unfinished buisness and will continue to haunt untill there buisness is settled and they can rest.

Good question. No they don't,BUT Satan's demons can do these things to try to make you believe that there is life after death. If you see what you think is a ghost you should call out Jesus name. They flee when they hear this. You are more likely to see one if you look for one,or maybe half way believe in them.

Yes, I was at Fort Waren on Georges island we had gotten fogged in there for the night. we could not see the other the mast of the boat (Oday 322, 32Ft2In). This is not uncommon for the So shore. While on the island before the MDC closed and told us to leave we saw the "lady in black"

Personally, I believe they exist though I've never seen one before. I have however heard many stories of them some of them very good lies and some quite convincing.

But I maintain one thing: 'The fact that you do not believe something exists does not mean it doesn't.'

Ghosts in the way the world thinks don't exist.
My religion states that there are people like us called Jinnies who live lives as we do but the difference is that they see us but we don't see them.
These Jennies don't hurt people, they are not scary, they are creatures of GOD like we are. But the souls of people who died before don't transform into "GHOSTS" that fly around, who says that is lunatic.
So don't panic.

GOD bless you

This section is on science and yet nearly all the people who replied believe in ghosts.
They should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. It is a disgrace.
