No! I really don't love the movie Rent. I don't hate it, but I definitely don't love it.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the story and stage version of Rent. I was so disappointed in the movie. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the great film it should have been. I had been waiting for this film for years - since rumors first starting coming out about a film version, in about 1998? - and it could have been so amazing.
The problem was the film was so mediocre. Not bad, but not very good - just like all of Chris Columbus' films. He's a mediocre director and I'm still upset that he got the HONOR of directing such an awesome story.
That said, I loved the cast [though I missed Daphne as Mimi] and it could have been worse - a few years ago Justin Timberlake was in the talks of being Mark, soooo it could have bene a lot worse!
Sorry to get all upset and long-winded - I just really love Rent and I get really into anything having to do with it!

You are talking about the musical right?? I liked it. The only musicals i watch are disney, so it was weird for me when they started singing. I liked it and will watch it again, my boyfriend how ever didn't!! He made fun of it like the whole way through... I hit him for that!! :D

i liked it but my sister is obsessed with it and listens to the songs nearly everyday, really starting to annoy me now....

yes but you need to see the original musical. other wise, it's half a*sed
