Of course their should be limits, the ultimate being 'No Use Of Torture', as the Protocals demand.
To all the posters who go on about 'why should we do it if they dont'. We are meant to be the civilised Wester, ladies and gentlemen, if we start arresting and torturing people, they've won. We've become the monsters they say we are. Lets be the bigger nations, lets refuse to torture, to conduct illegal wars and keep some morality in our foreign policy

All those that believe that torture is excused if it is done on some and not on others, well what you're trying to say is that torturing white people is bad while torturing anyone that is non-white or not from N. America or Europe is OK.
Well, wouldn't it be great if we could just kill off everyone else in this world except the white N. Americans and Europeans. Then, we would solve all our problems and we could live in a world just like what the Nazis dreamt off..
To all the people who feel that this is the way to go, you need to get your thoughts straight because you are a minority and those people who listen to reason and common sense will only tolerate so much.. Stop spreading hate out of ignorance!

with the help of freeing the images more effective hatred and distrust will be inserted into an already violent international. this would in straightforward words further injure the U.S. that's element of the plan for the death of a loose us of a and could be carried out to deflate the yank ego and wreck the believe something else of the international had for us. We, the persons, are at warfare with the unlawful authorities!

Should there be limits on torture????? ehhhhh.... YES of course. I've been to the link and I'm quite disgusted. I don't think anything good will be achieved by torturing people. I don't believe in torturing people not even if the "other side"is doing it. Thanx for showing me the link though.

Of course there should be limits on torture by the U.S. government, but what kind of say do we have on this? We are only citizens, but they are the Bush administration... and not only the Bush administration approved torture, but previous presidents did also.

War is war. Do you think our enemies worry over this stuff? No, I don't think children should be tortured, but do they spare children? What happens when a "soft" country and tries to fight someone who will sacrifice anything and everything?
I think a better questions would be, why are we in this war? What is our end objective? How can we get out?

I really wish these things weren't necessary - but if this was the only way of gaining information that could same lives I'd agree. We are dealing with people who have a total disregard for humanity.

There should only be limits on torture and extreme "information-gathering" techniques, if you believe in the US Constitution, the Geneva Convention, and also such concepts as due process.

Absolutely there should be standards. Treat others as you want to be treated seems like a good standard. To sink to torture would be shameful and unethical. What would we be if we have no moral standards, no regard for human rights and dignity? Terrorists.
