You start.

Its fine if you live near public transportation but for so many people (like me) its 1/2 hour to get to Walmart and not driving is just not an option.

Would never work. If you decide not to drive for 2 weeks, then sure, that could work. But people are still going to drive as much as they need/want to, and will just get gas in 2 weeks instead of now, and no one would know the difference.

Plus this primarily hits the gas stations, and while they are responsible for part of the price of gas, this is not the biggest problem for gas prices.

go with not buying gas?
First you better eat only food you can grow cause won't be any in a store. Dude with no people driving this country would be in a 1929 depression so fast you would not understand

Great idea!! you gonna get me to my Doc. appointments? not to mention all the working people out there? What we should do is only (and I do mean all of us) drive the absolute minimum for one week. Do all your runing around at one shot don't go to dinner out don't do anything out of the way and then the next week after the economy colapses we can have a revolution !!! man,,, it's way deeper than that!!!
