why don't they buy star players from overseas like the other three?

They don't need to. There a pretty decent team, plus they have gerrard who is pretty good. Look at Chelsea, they have a 200 million dollar team and they still lost to the MLS all-stars who are probably worth a penny in comparison.
And Chelsea can't make that excuse that their in pre-season form because most people expected them to win. They would have not said anything about it if they won. You don't need high profile players to be a good team. Sao Paulo beat Liverpool about a year back and i had never even heard of them till they did that.

Football is a tem player buddy and teamwork makes them tick not some primadonna. Was there any high profile players when the Reds won the Champions League 2 seasons back or Porto for that matter ?

Maybe he does not want anymore Player`s, maybe he is satisfied with the one`s he has got, but I really don't understand how you can say, Steven Gerrard is not a high profile player, or the rest of Liverpool Squad come to that!!!!

who says they dont have high profile players....they have gerrard,xabi alonso,luis garcia,cisse,reina,bellamy,crouch all of whom are national squad regulars.....more over it does not take individuals to win anything its how they play as a team that is important and liverpool have the best team spirit among the epl teams...see west ham utd..they just got promoted to the epl and they finish runners up in the fa cup and qualify for europe and they dont have any "high profile players"....
