I am an Englishman and I love Scotland and Scottish people. However, there are old rivalries between the two peoples that goes back century's and when it comes to football games the folks on both sides get a bit tribal. Thankfully we are both dedicated to the same head of state and when it comes to serious things like war we fight together side by side.

scotland is the only country which has discovered oil and gas and subsequently became poorer
scotland currently produces 4 times more electricity than it requires much of which is then supplied to england
scotland has effective water boards in place who dont have huge water losses resulting in hosepipe bans etc, in fact scotland supplies much of england with water
scotland is a magnificent country with spectacular scenery a rich and vibrant culture and some of the nicest people you'll ever likely meet plus of course its home to the first brittish football team to win the european cup.

there are English who think anything from Scotland is sh*t, and Scots who think the same of England. F*ck both of those, say I. Life's too short to hate. I'm a Scot, am happy here in Scotland, and enjoy lots of things about England (especially the mustard)

Mr Blair has put the UK under the control of the Scottish Mafia. They make laws in Scotland that take the micky out of our laws. Their MP's vote on English issues but English MP's cant vote on their issues. Football. Oil. Two other matters that cause problems. I have no problem with Scottish people who live in Scotland.

Because the English know when they are beaten! The English are far inferior to the Scots, act like Hooligans most of the time, and have a ghastly ignorant knowledge (or lack of it) about Scotland.

You have it the wrong way around.

Scotland does not like England.
Mainly due to the fact that they were invaded, persecuted and the English stole a sacred stone which is now in London and is used as the base of a seat when a new King or Queen is crowned.

On average Scots are much, much more likely to hate the English than the other way round. Something to do with colonialism and exploitation I expect.

Because the English/British are stuck up prigs!

I have always wanted to go to Scotland, it's beautiful and full of wonderful history that doesn't get taught to us in the USA, which is a shame.
