Ive always loved shooting pictures. Making a good artsy picture out of something every day. Ive never really had a good camera....can anyone offer me suggestions on what kind of equipment I need and suggestions on cameras to get? Has anyone taken a photography class and do they recommend it?

Do you take developed film or digital? Film originals seem to be the way for commercial shots. They process it, then digitize it.

I would suggest for now to get a relatively inexpensive digital (actually they are getting cheaper almost by the day) camera. You can set it on manual to be able to change settings of speed, and light. Or you can go automatic.

I went from a Pentax to a Kodak EasyShare Z7590. and have found it quite easy to adjust. I do prefer the viewer to the screen, however.

A tripod is good piece of equipment to have, and a camera carrier to protect the camera. Lens cover, too.

A photography class wouldn't be too out of line if you are really that interested. Check it out though, will they be dealing with film or the digital sticks? If you have a digital camera you don't want to be in a film processing class.

Quirky pics are fun, but a class can help you compose and think about the best way to take a shot.

Enjoy yourself, pictures are slices of life and time, have fun!

I love photography too. I'm an amateur, but oh well. The camera I use which is pretty good, not professional though, is Kodak EasyShare DX6490. It's a digital camera but it's bigger than the silver ones you see for $200. A good camera would be Nikon. They have professional cameras. Check out their site: www.nikon.com

If you want, you can also visit my site. I made my own site for photography a couple of days ago: www.pozedi.piczo.com

Good luck. =)
