Don't waste a second! As soon as you take retainer out, put the other in. If you wait the hole will close. Don't forget to rinse too...keep it clean!

I am not sure if I'm understanding the question right...so if my answer doesn't make sense, my apologies...

I had my tongue pierced 3 weeks ago...and I changed it for the first time today. According to my piercer, you're safe to change it as soon as the swelling goes down and you have no more pain...if you're still tender, but not swollen and want a shorter barbell, go to your piercer and ask them to change it out...they should do it free of charge...

If you're totally pain free, I'm not really sure why you're having trouble...if it's a matter of not being able to turn the top ball, it could just be that it's threaded wrong and it'll take some tweaking.

It took me a few minutes of fiddling around with the top ball on mine cause I couldn't get the hole lined up, but once I got it figured out it was no problem...it'll just take some getting used to...

Good Luck...and I hope enjoy your piercing...I know I do. :)

I have a toungue ring & I would suggest that if it hurts too much to change the ring yet then just wait.
It is prob. still a little swollen, and trying to heal right now.
Can you stick your tongue out fully & play with it w/out hurting?
If not, give a week or so more.

WAIT 2 MORE WEEKS! THE INSIDE OF YOUR TONGUE ISN'T HEALED YET, AND YOU CAN CAUSE AN INFECTION. DON'T CHANGE IT YET.

It is to soon to change you need to wait until it is healed then it will be easy.

Let's see. You put this in the "Beauty & Style" section because there is no CAVE MAN section?

Just get rid of it. It's tasteless and tacky.
