I'm having a hard time figuring out what you are really asking. Do you actually mean "the colonists endured BECAUSE of their successes?

If that's the question, then the major obstacle would have been to get everything back to normal life after the Revolutionar War. Not the least of which would be the need for importing everything that was in short supply because of the blockades.

The country was also growing... rapidly so... and that would have been a HUGE obstacle.
