What kind of cleaner fluid would I use to remove the calcium spots from a glass shower door? How would I apply it? And what kind of scrubbing pad would I use without scratching the glass?

I haven't cleaned my glass shower door in 2 years and so much calcium has built up over time that I cannot even see through the glass.

this is what i do..i take the shower doors off and put them in the tube..its very simples...then i spray them with water them i spray them with bleach cleaner..let them soak for a few minutes then i get a spunge with a scrather on it...this will take all the soap scum off with ease..then if it dont get a sos pad and start scrubbing it wont hurt the doors..but it will make them look new again...and while the doors are off get a old tooth brush and clean the track for the doors...it kills me when i see nasty doors because people was to lazy to take them off...i used to clean for a living and i learned this..i had to take every door off....

Try Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. If the deposits are as thick as I think they might be (since you haven't cleaned in 2 years) You may want to try a bathroom cleaner or CLR as previously suggested to get the bulk off....a friend of mine used a product called Iron-away, but I used these magic erasers on mine when I moved into my new house and they worked great AND very little elbow grease was needed with the Mr. Clean. Good luck!

You have clean the door with windex the first time. You may need to use a product like CLR. Get it spotless. After that, spraying the door and the entire shower with Arm and Hammer shower cleaner after every shower use will keep it clean without scrubbing.

I ve tried everything on our shower, Magic Eraser, double strength vinegar, CLR. Nothing has worked. The build up appears to be calcium, not soap. Really need a solution.

You know, actually I was just reading this week where one of the many little-known uses of WD-40 is that you can clean shower doors with it. It will probably take a while, and a little elbow grease too! :) Re scratching the glass, you should be able to use a milder plastic-based scrubby, like one of the dish sponges with a scrubber on the other side. As long as you're not using Brillo you should be OK.

There are so many products you can use and one that is really good is glass cleaner. you need to really spray the glass cleaner on thick .rub and scrub with a Teflon or nylon scrubber. you will need to do this more than once since your shower door is so bad
And also if you want to try , use soft scrub or a product like it . it will not scratch the surface and is also a good cleaner .

I clean houses for a living and I would use a Mr. Clean magic eraser and Murphy's oil soap. MOS is very good for getting soap scum off of lots of things.
